The Monastery Grounds

The Trappist Monastery at St. Norbert was established in 1892 and served as a contemplative home for monks for over a century. Today, its grounds host the St. Norbert Arts Centre and our school — carrying forward the tradition of quiet, purposeful work with the land.

Our medicinal gardens grow among the monastery's limestone ruins, where stone walls shelter herbs from prairie winds and hold the warmth of the sun. Walking paths wind through old-growth elms and along the riverbank — an ideal setting for the study of plant medicine.

The St. Norbert Arts Centre is home to galleries, artist residencies, and seasonal cultural events. The grounds are open to the public year-round, and the ruins themselves are a designated provincial heritage site — a place where history, art, and the living land meet.

Inside the Shop

The Apothecary

Our shop shelves hold the season's preparations — tinctures drawn from fresh harvests, loose-leaf teas blended by hand, infused oils steeped in the sun, and seasonal remedies that change with what the land offers.

Everything is made in small batches, labeled with the harvest date and plant origin. If you're unsure what you need, just ask — we'll help you find the right preparation, or refer you to a consultation if your concern calls for one.
