Hey everyone, welcome to my first blog post! I hope it works, there are lot's of learning curves with this platform but I am pressing onward. My goal is with this blog is to share some helpful content for your journey. These will be spontaneous and fairly brief. I tend to Virgo perfectionism which is not of great help when putting oneself out in the world because the idea of perfection can really hold us back. What I desire is to be is authentic and in the flow with these posts, to focus on the message and not get to hooked on the idea of being the messenger. If you have any requests or topics you would like me to speak to or to write on please email me at chadcornellonline@gmail.com . As we head towards October you will notice more YouTube videos and blog articles. Summer is so busy but I want to start to get this avenue of sharing flowing. So I was just recording with a film crew that approached me to do a mainstream media piece for Bell/MTS. I decided to go ahead with it because I really appreciate the film makers and their previous projects. One of the most amazing of which is a film called Call of The Forest, if any of you get a chance to check it out I highly recommend it. It is available to stream for free on Knowledge Network: https://www.knowledge.ca/ You can set up an account for free and stream all kinds of arts, nature & science docs as well as some other fun & interesting things. What I mainly wish to share on today is the importance of believing in ourselves. There is an old saying that "life expands or contracts in relation to ones courage". I think it's true because every time I get asked to something like this I can feel a dichotomy of excitement and retraction. I am honoured to be asked to do it, but let's face it, it feels safer not to put yourself out there. We may fail, say something stupid, look terrible, offend someone, etc. But what sets me free from recoiling into my Scorpio moon shell is my faith and belief in the medicines and the message of herbalism. believe there has never been a more important time to stay close to the green, and to the earth for so many reasons. I also believe that herbalists and natural healers of all kinds are going to become ever more important and valued in our culture in the years ahead. What I have also come to notice is that whatever the endeavour we desire to accomplish - we have to believe strongly in the merit what we are doing and our worthiness to be doing it , and even beyond that we will benefit from spending the time to visualize the outcome and the positive feelings that goes with that . . and yes we best let go of the attachment to the outcome as well. 1. Feel the sincere potency and importance of what we are doing or what vision / intentions we hold. 2. We explore our inner terrain of self love, and self worth, tuning into our essential worth the goodness of our vision / intention. 3. We visualize the outcome aka, seeing ourself on our future herb farm, helping others, etc. 4. Surrendering the outcome, aka, letting go and enjoying the process for the process itself. The play of it. It seems social media and media in general is so often telling us a story of negativity, but maybe worse than that is that it is selling us a dream of the future, someone else's dream... day in and day out. Yes there is real world stuff happening but a lot of the suffering we are seeing is the result of a previous crisis of vision and positive intention, of imagination. One of the key roles of healers through time was to dream well, to dream good dream, and to share stories and myths of meaning. Every good story seems to contain crisis, and crisis is seems to create the necessity of invention or evolution. So friends let's stay close to the green . . . and dream a good dream. We are the ones we've been waiting for and we are all worthy of playing a fundamental part in the powerful chapter in history. Thus end my first little blog post for our new school website, I hope you enjoyed it, if nothing else as a reminder of what you already deep down to be true. Let's believe in the good things coming, and do the hard work today that will benefit our future selves and others! Chad Cornell
