Hello beautiful souls, For those of you that have been inquiring about refining your practice, these are the essential steps in a more simplified version for study and practice. This does not include the deeper inner child time line therapy aspect that I refer to as Jyoti Bala. However, keep in mind that Jyoti Bala is simply a step added in to the outlined process found here. I suggest that you ideally read this on a larger screen if possible, and not on a phone. Please note that the key qualities of the Jyoti process are symbolized (for you visual learning types) in the picture included here from a book of poetry I wrote some years back. The Image includes: The Root - Grounding in the body and gravity - being right here and right now. The Rasing Up & The Unblocking of Stuck Energy - The Hummingbird and DNA, using breath and transmuting "lead into gold" via Jyoti cues - especially self compassion, acceptance, inner smile and so on. The State of Pure Awareness - The diamond and pointed flower cone crown. The Heart - The flowering radiant cross at the centre. Consider the following to be like key stops along a trail or a route that we must visit along the way so it is essential to integrate these into each session. I want to emphasize that I deeply encourage you not to add to, or take away from, the key phrases and pillars on the path mentioned here . They are the result of years of intuitive refinement and the result of guiding hundreds of people through this process and in this order. If you miss things, add things, or alter it greatly that is up to you, but it will no longer be a Jyoti session. Every key word, sound, and image has a purpose, so be cautious not to add in much else. I encourage you to stay away from any flowery word salad or too much extra verbiage. If you ever feel nervous or off track then stop and ground and breath and be silent. Once you feel grounded and centred then you can proceed. You may feel this is a lot to remember but In the days of old, before even the invention of printed books - all teachings were memorized and recited. The druids memorized hymns, the bards - poems, the yogis - the sutras and vedas, and of course indigenous of Turtle Island passed on story and song. Please personally explore, memorize, and practice these core pillars and key phrases. To repeat something exactly as you learn, it is called verbatim . I will also remind you that you cannot lead an effective Jyoti state without yourself doing it as you lead it! The wonderful part about this fact, is that every time you give a Jyoti session - you will also be receiving the benefits. Event though I tend to lead Jyoti sessions with my eyes mostly closed, you may consider printing out these key pillars in a larger font. That way you can reference them during a session for the first while, but ideally they are memorized from the start. You can even practice with an imaginary person in front of you or a stuffed animal to go through the process and get comfortable with the steps. No two Jyoti sessions will be identical, you may need to spend a little more time on certain steps with one person or another. If you are calm and grounded and centred yourself - then you will be able to sense when to move on, when to repeat certain phrases, and so on. If you genuinely feel calm, centred and grounded then listen to those intuitive cues and trust them! Core Pillars and Key Phrases In A Full Jyoti Session 1. Release 2. Being Breathed 3. Grounding Mind In Body 4. Centering As Awareness 5. Watching The Breath 6. Connecting With The Heart 7. Cultivating Love and Gratitude / Inner Smile 8. Future Self 9. Coming Back To The Room 10. Devoting The Practice Now In More Detail: 1. Release: Deepening parasympathetic nervous system state is foundational. Help create a calm sanctuary space and begin with by suggesting we leave the outside world at the door. You are now in a healing space and sanctuary. Aligning the spine, chin gently tucked, belly breathing (expands on the in breath, up into the chest, sinks in on the out breath). Fill the lungs all the way, and mouth exhale. AHHHH. This deep breathing is essential to create the right inner chemistry and should be done for about 8-10 breaths and not feel rushed at all. KEY PHRASES: What might it feel like to let go. What might it feel like to soften, soften any clenching or tension. Nothing to do, just allow yourself to be. What might is feel like to let go. What might it feel like to allow yourself to just be. What might it feel like to soften. Repeat them all softly with an exhaling voice tone, 2 or 3 times depending. 2. Being Breathed: Shifting now from doing the breathing - to allowing the breath to breath you. Still repeating key phrases from above, and adding in more. This is a big shift from doing to being and hels the ego let go. Notice if they look tight and or "locked up still" in the solar plexus and chest / shoulders. Some people will really be needing to say haaaaahhhh, and practice letting go! KEY PHRASES: What might it feel like to allow the breath to breath you - without resisting or forcing it? Allow the breath to breath you. No forcing, no resisting. You don't have to "do" breathing. Repeat softly. Softly exhale out your own mouth to assist the tone of letting go. Sincere affirmation - you're doing great, very good (very gentle voice tone is essential here as we are softening aggression and allowing armour to let go). 3. Grounding Mind In Body: Now the slow body scan begins, simply mention each body region starting with the feet and grounding them into the earth. Feel the bones, notice the nails, sense the feeling the muscle. The words "notice" and 'sense' are important as they not suggesting "doing" anything. Notice the weight of the feet, weight of the body, weight of the arms as you go. Very relaxed voice helps to support the relaxation and depth. Space must be left between verbal instructions. The space is filled with intelligence and grace. Exploring the weight of gravity. key spots to feel are the feet, femur bones, sit bones, hip area, lower abdomen, midsection, upper chest, shoulders, upper arms, lower arms, hands in detail, hands resting on lap, lower back, upper back, neck / spine, jaw, facial muscles all of them, sides of head, top of head (also use the word crown), feeling aligned and connected to source and higher consciousness. KEY PHRASES: Just noticing the feeling of each body part, nothing to do. Don't judge the clenching, just notice. Simply noticing any tension or unnecessary clenching and enjoying softening and enjoying letting go. Exploring deeper layers of softening, Noticing the weight of gravity. Feel how heavy your arms are, just hanging loose. You don't do gravity, simply notice the weight of you body. Encourage exhale - especially if you sense holding patterns. 4. Centering As Awareness: Once you have made it to the crown, you instruct the awareness ot centre behind the forehead. Finding the space between thoughts, looking back into the very centre of your mind. Nothing to do, just notice there is awareness. KEY PHRASES: Just notice that behind your forehead you are aware, there is awareness. Like a womb, like a cave, like space. Dark yet radiant with awareness. Looking back into the centre of your mind. Notice awareness is quite neutral. Simply awareness. Very wise feeling. Very neutral. The space between thoughts. Dark yet radiant with awareness. 5. Watching The Breath : This is an ancient practice that is so simple, and yet so powerful for calming and centering people. Do not rush through this. Being awareness - and watching each little part of the breath coming in the nostril area, and go out again. This is now breathing in the nose, and out of the nose also. Key Phrases: Riding each part of the breath like a surfer rides a wave. If you fall off that's ok, just return to awareness... watching the breath come and go. You are not doing the breathing. You are watching the breath come and go like waves on a beach, and go out again. After about 5 breaths you can suggest to imagine "in your mind" the sound of Soooooo as you breath in, and Huummmmm on the way out. You say out loud in a whisper voice like the sound of breath or wind - Sooooo and Hummmm. 6. Connecting With Your Heart: This is where we have a couple of different options as practitioners. if the session is shorter and more casual (or group) you can go right to encouraging the feeling of smiling a softly and so on (which we will cover further on) however it is ideally a moment to come home to the heart and be present within the heart. Suggest bringing one hand up to the heart gently, just being present with your heart and exhaling out the mouth. Your voice should be very loving grandmother at this point. KEY PHRASES: Explore feeling connected to yourself, to your heart. Like being your own best friend, in a very kind way. Exhale out the mouth. What might it feel like to feel compassion towards yourself? Feeling compassion for your own journey? What might self love feel like? There is a young little you in that heart that just wants to feel your presence, your love, your acceptance. Maybe they never felt much of that, but you can give them that right now. What might acceptance feel like? Not the idea of it, but the feeling. AHHHH. And what might forgiveness feel like? Acceptance , compassion , and forgiveness feel very similar. The feeling is the healing. If there are any uncomfortable feelings coming up, just notice them and give them - acceptance, and compassion. If I ask you if you are a good person at heart ? Even though you may slip up in life, do you mean well? I hope you can feel a yes, can you feel a yes? Notice where you feel that. Where do you feel that? Ask them this outloud. 7. Cultivating Love and Gratitude : Here is where we use the oils most and it is the heart of the practice. You could use them for step 6 too but mainly here. Breathing in, explore the feeling of now of a soft smiling and exhaling. Here you can ask if they see or sense a colour? Suggest they spread any colour or pleasant feeling and bath every cell in the body as well. KEY PHRASES: What does a smiling feel like in the body, where do you feel it? Smiling towards your breath with gratitude . What does gratitude feel like? Imagine smelling a beautiful flower in the garden. Note - If you notice a resistance to smiling, just give it acceptance (say this especially if they are not smiling or won't). Otherwise, fake it till you make it, just curl up the corners of the mouth (playful like hearted voice). Exhale, ahhhhh. Maybe someone you love comes to mind? Imagine their smiling face, and eyes. Feel smiling with them . Feel the beauty and awe of love. Love knows no time nor space. Send them love, receive their love. If this feeling had a colour what would it be? Imagine it coming out your pores, filling the space all around you. Ahhhh. Encourage the vibrational sound of ahhhh, by saying words that vibrate your own heart space - literally. Hahhhh, but make sure it is not an aggressive forced ahhhh or haaaaahhh, the state of love, acceptance, surrender, and trust or faith . Ask what might surrender might feel like? What might trust or faith feel like? Now - like a plant in the morning sun you imagine opening to the higher power in your life to receive love. You are in the prayers of your ancestors, you are loved and supported in ways you can barely imagine. You are loved and supported. Love knows no limits of time nor space, love is our true nature. This is a good time to use a feather or fan with oils on it. Letting go of what is no longer serving you. What are you ready to let go of? Breathing in light and healing, and letting of what you no longer need to carry. Bless it as it goes.... Are you open to lighter and brighter days ? Are you worthy , is that inner child worthy? If any emotion comes just softly encourage it. Those tears are sacred, thank you for sharing them. You're doing so good. Here you can use feathers and soft chimes, bells. Encourage an Ahhh, and the other sound to encourage is Mmmmm, hmmhmmm, like a yes sound. Are you feeling good? mmm, hmmm. This will vibrate the heart area well. Like the sound you make when eating your favourite desert. Your heart is pure unstainable beauty. Imagine a gem being cleaned off to allow a radiant light to glow through it (practitioner - fan off the heart and the back and imagine this occurring). Ask them what colour they see? No wrong answer, just allow it to appear - a beautiful unstainable gem in you heart area. (Practitioner - praise the beauty and healing power of that colour and vision). That is your true nature, a pure gem and unstainable light. At your core you are love itself. 8. Future Self: This is optional, when there is time and it feels right, to ground the practice with a future vision. The main goal is to help create a link within the mind between the current self and a potential state. This is done through imagery, intention, and feeling. The cue words will suggest visions of being in a beautiful spot n nature, standing strong and healthy, you can also suggest other positive states as you intuit. You only gently provide cues to imagine but they make up the details. KEY PHRASES: Imagine yourself in a beautiful place in nature, doing really well. Notice - how are you standing? Notice your eyes, Notice your face and how you are feeling. Possibly their are some other good friends, pets, family, community around you. Feel it now. That future self can show you things. Things to do to help you be more like them. Watch them, ask them things, you can visit them anytime. 9. Coming Back To The Room: Now gently coming back to the room. Review key qualities of Jyoti - still feeling the weight of gravity, still allowing the breath to breath you. Still releasing any unnecessary clenching. Simply looking at something in the room, with pure awareness, not need to label it. Imagine smiling out your eyes, if you did see a healing colour earlier, imagine that colour being the colour of your eyes. Explore the feeling of gratitude - for the plants, the music, your breath and for a chance to work this method into your daily life. 10. Devoting The Practice: This is simply sincerely devoting the practice to all of our loved ones, to our ancestors and to any descendants. To all of the elements, to the web of life and creation. May all beings guide themsleves to peace and bliss. Lastly, for the practitioner and those new to the experience - a reminder that Jyoti is for daily life . As we walk, as we shop, as we speak to people. We are grounded in awareness of the body, exhaling tension, softening clenching, being present and resting awareness on one point (like we did the in breath), and even a soft smile or smiling out the eyes. Our work is to stay grounded moment to moment in the body, breath in and exhale, practice letting go, being kind to yourself, being your own compassionate best friend. The goal with learning this method, unlike many others, is that each person learns to self align, and does not need endless repeat sessions. Occasionally, it may be nice to go see a Jyoti practitioner for a "guided tune up" but unlike massage it is something we can each learn to integrate into our lives and use for ourselves. Practitioner Reminder - One option you have when practicing the above key phrases is that you can have it printed out or written in a way that you can easily reference while you are "in the Jyoti state". The Root - Grounding in the body The Rasing Up & Unblocking of Stuck Energy - The Hummingbird and DNA The State of Pure Awareness - The Diamond and pointed flower cone crown. The Heart - The flowering radiant cross at the centre. This concludes our summary as of July 2025. Thank you for committing yourself to learning this very powerful and effect method of liberation. Much love, Chad
